Sometimes the best kind of baking is done with the simplest of ingredients, and this cake is one such recipe. This eggless recipe gives you the softest cake with a perfect crumbly texture, satisfying your dessert cravings quickly. The recipe is super simple and easy. 1. Pour 1 cup of semolina into a bowl. (Note: 1 cup is equivalent to 200 ml.)
2. Add half a cup of sugar and stir until well combined.
3. Mix in 1 cup of yogurt and stir thoroughly.
4. Let the mixture sit for 20-30 minutes to allow the semolina to swell.
5. Add half a cup of vegetable oil and stir.
6. Add 1 cup of flour and vanilla sugar to the mixture, and stir until smooth.
7. Divide the dough into two equal parts.
8. Add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder to one part of the dough and stir until fully mixed.
9. To the other part, add orange or lemon zest along with 2 tablespoons of flour, and stir well.
10. Prepare a baking pan by greasing it with vegetable oil or lining it with baking paper.
11. Alternate spooning the dark and light dough into the pan to create a layered effect.
12. Bake the cake in the oven for about 50 minutes at 170°C (338°F).
